The Homestead Lodge in Oxbow Maine combines the classic old time farm house with modern conveniences such as hot showers, phone availability, and even wireless computer connection.

Our licensed commercial kitchen will serve up hardy home cooked meals to delight you and fill you up. We also have all the fast food type equipment without sacrificing any of the antique farm and family charm. Our modern appliances have to share space with a 150-year-old wood cook stove, complete with a black Labrador lying near by. The coffee is always on and the open divider wall allows a continuity of family during meal preparation.

Individual bedrooms can sleep parties of two to parties of ten, with each having it's own theme, i.e. Buffalo Room, Harley Room, and Moose Room. Some rooms have double beds while some have singles, and others have doubles down with singles over for bunk type beds. All rooms are pure country and are clean and comfortable. Beds are made up complete with electric blankets for chilly nights and towels are laid out.

There are two TV/Game rooms for your comfort and pleasure. One has a 50 inch big screen TV and both have Dish Net for your viewing. There are tables for playing cards and a pool table. Snowshoes are available for our guest's use and snowmobiles can be rented with a deposit. There is also storage for your own snowmobile and a 12X12-foot kennel for gun dogs. No pets are allowed in the lodge.

You'll find John & Gloria happy to share conversation in the evenings after a great meal at the Homestead Lodge. It's actually said that John can talk forever about buffalo and don't get Gloria started on bear unless you want to be a while.

For our guests' comfort and an increase in success, we ask that you smoke outside only. Alcohol is not available at the lodge and although drinking is allowed, this is our home and drinking to excess is not.
